When do preview rules become stable?

There are a couple of preview rules I'm particularly interested in using (CPY, DOC). Which raises a few questions:

1. How do the ruff maintainers decide when a rule is ready to graduate from preview to stable?
2. How can I track progress towards a particular set of rules becoming stable?
3. Is there a way to enable only a few preview rules instead of all preview rules?

2. I don't think there's a way to do this yet. Perhaps there are GitHub issues for some of the stabilizations, but I don't think it's common.

Finally got around to trying this but it isn't working as expected. Using:

[tool.ruff.lint]
preview = true
explicit-preview-rules = true
extend-select = ["CPY001"]

I not only get CPY001, but also experimental F841.

My ruff version is quite old though (0.9.1), should probably confirm with newer ruff.

I think explicit-preview-rules is a bit different from what you're looking for. It only makes it so that selecting CPY doesn't enable CPY001, for example. Instead it requires explicitly selecting by the full rule code.

There's a tracking issue for the behavior I think you want here: #12343.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for. CPY001 seems pretty popular, hoping it stabilizes soon.
