Bracket Pair Highlighting Sometimes Works and Sometimes Doesn't Work - Most of the Time it Doesn't Work

I'm using the latest version of Visual Studio Code on Windows 11. As the title says, bracket pair highlighting sometimes works and sometimes doesn't work. It's driving me nuts. Most of the time, the highlighting works when the editor is first open, then it stops working after one movement of the cursor. I have followed the instructions to make bracket pair highlighting work, but it hasn't fixed the issue. What's causing this issue?

I notice the Stack Overflow thread you linked to has 13,964 questions with no answers, so I'm assuming this won't be the best place to ask a question.

If you have exact steps to reproduce it with as few extensions as possible I suggest you report it as a problem on the VS Code repository. The "Report Issue" option from VS Code's Help menu is able to help with this. And the Profiles feature of VS Code is a good way of reducing your extension set to the minimum required for your repro. Though that's unnecessary if the repro works even after you run the Developer|: Reload with Extension Disabled command.

Thank you. At present I am using no extensions. I have tried reinstalling and setting everything to default. The bracket pair highlighting is still unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not working. I have now asked a question on Stack Overflow and reported the issue through Help. Thanks again for your help.
