Hi there, That's a great observation — user experience design can have a significant impact on donation behavior. While GitHub Sponsors doesn't currently offer a feature that integrates sponsor prompts directly into the code download or clone process (e.g., similar to how Bandcamp emphasizes donations before download), there are a few ways to raise visibility for your sponsorship options:
While these aren't exactly like Bandcamp’s donation-before-download model, they do help bring visibility to your sponsorship efforts. It would be interesting to see GitHub explore more integrated options in the future — perhaps a discussion for the GitHub feedback repo. Hope that helps! |

I recall years ago reading that some website that put donations front and center of the download path, like Bandcamp does, increased the number of donations. Is there any feature like that for github sponsors and the download process?
