What is the process to get started with GitHub Sponsors?

I’m interested in understanding how GitHub Sponsors works and what the setup process looks like. Do developers need to apply and wait for approval, or can it be enabled directly on a profile? How is the payout system handled (bank info, Stripe, taxes)? And once someone is approved, how does the sponsor button get displayed on profiles and repositories?

Any insights or experiences about the general process would be really helpful.

Hey @Chesars,
You can just go on the repository you want to add sponsor option to. Go to settings, and under "Features" select "Set up Sponsorship".
From there you can set up your sponsorship
