That's because Google started enforcing Manifest V3 on Chrome. GSConnect Chrome extension still uses Manifest V2, so Google mandates that you remove it. Furthermore, this restriction also causes this warning in the Webstore page:

This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions.

You could, in theory, seek an alternative like Brave browser, but YMMV.

EDIT: There was also a hack that was going around to enable the Install button, but doing that today causes the following error:

Download error: Cannot install extension because it uses an unsupported manifest version.
