@Poisonsting are you using docker compose to run the gateway? Can you send me a snippet of the compose file, or your full docker mcp gateway run command. I can't reproduce this error on my side yet.

I raised an issue about tool use with https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp which is the backend I'm using to run my models.

I was advised the following:

You don't have useful descriptions, and your parameters are not described well. No local model is going to be able to use them like that. You have to really explain what they are and how to use them or the model is going to get confused and try to run the tool without parameters or with bad ones. You should also make sure you have descriptive error messages so that if it screws up it knows why and how to do it properly.

As such, it appears that the primary issue is the underlying MCP tools being poorly optimized for LLM use. I'm posting issues in the relevant projects to see if that helps.

I'll keep this issue open just in case.

The ArXiv MCP tool in the Docker Hub MCP catalogue is made from a wildly out of date fork of the original tool. It is missing significant changes, and does not allow issues to be raised. I suggest using a repo that is updated, and allows feedback of any kind to build your images.
