,Net WinForms reference source is now missing

I do a lot of WinForms coding (.NET Framework 4.8 and 4.81) and use that source when my custom user controls are acting up. This reference provides a base which I can debug my code and make it compatible to the ,NET framework, Access to this code is essential as the documentation (most times) does not provide the internal function descriptions (nor they should do), but information is required when debugging my code.

I develop mostly on Windows with code that sometimes works on Unix (using mono).

I am also missing the old referencesource website, but for those unaware, WPF and WinForms have their own githubs:

• https://github.com/dotnet/winforms

Note that the main branch are the versions that run on .NET Core / .NET 5+, so you may need to browse older versions. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to verify if the older tags are truly the .NET Framework versions.

What I really wish for is a single repository with (accurate!) tags for .NET Framework 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.8, 4.8.1, etc.

The older tags don't appear to be the .NET Framework versions. After significant time spent browsing and searching on the Windows Forms GH repo I really can't find those at all. What a blow this decision is. 🙄

I've downloaded the reference sources many times. Perhaps I'll find one of those copies, and perhaps VS2022 will allow me to open and browse that without multitudes of project file version upgrades and other associated issues over what was never buildable anyway.
