LibCal Hours

Overview

• All library hours are entered into LibCal and pulled in and displayed on various pages and reservation bookings. This is made possible by a custom plugin developed by Stefan.
• For holidays or other closures, exceptions can be set one day at a time, or a closed template can be applied, for example Closed (COVID_19).
• To assign hours templates, go to LibCal > Admin > Hours.
• Parnassus also has some specific notes that require manual updating (not connected to LibCal).

Adding holiday closures/exceptions

1. Go to LibCal > Admin > Hours
2. Down to ID 798 Parnassus Library
3. click Exceptions
4. add date
5. in note say "holiday"
6. copy to all location

Best practices for temporarily using a closed template

• Save a screen shot of the regular settings, so they can be easily resumed later.
• Do not set a date range — leave the regular one as is.
• When it's time to switch back to regular hours, you should only need to change the dropdown choice for each.
